Placemaking Agent
Catheryne (Cate) Cunningham serves as a student Placemaking Agent. Her role largely involves learning alongside enrolled churches and acting as a mediator between these congregations and Ormond leadership, developers, and other partners.
Cate is a first-year student at Duke Divinity in the residential M.Div. program, and she hopes to pursue a certificate in Theology, Medicine, and Culture. Cate is also pursuing ordination in the PCUSA church with the Presbytery of the Mid-South.
Originally from Lexington, KY, Cate recently graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN with a degree in Health Equity. She spent her college years working as a grant writer and research assistant for community organizations and nonprofits, focused primarily on the affordable housing market and health literacy and preventative medicine initiatives. Cate's undergraduate thesis studied the motivations and efficacy of a congregationally-based health literacy program out of Methodist Hospital in Memphis.
